Making a Purchase
The website is not a live ordering system, and out-of-stock items are updated to the website manually. It is possible at times that an item might be out of stock while still listed for sale on the website. In such situations, we will contact you immediately after order to discuss options for cancelling or back-order handling of the order.
Ordering from our website is easy, browse our site and select items to add to your cart. Click checkout when all items are in your cart and follow the instructions for payment processing. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and debit cards for payment through Stripe (our payment processing partner). We cannot accept cash or cheque for payment. Bank transfer, PayPal or similar payment options are possible, but you must contact us by email to complete your purchase using these payment methods.
Although we try to make sure our website is up and working at all times, outages are possible. We make no guarantees that our website will be available for you to use, read or order from at any specific time or according to any specific service level agreement. If our website is not working, you can try contacting us by email and we will try to answer any questions you may have.
Our spirits do not have a best before date. However, gins and gin liqueurs tend to lose some intensity of flavour or colour if stored for a long period of time. We generally recommend that you consume gin within a year of purchase, although it may remain good for some considerable time longer. Store spirits in a cool dry location and away from direct sunlight which may degrade the flavour and colour. Do not store spirits at temperatures exceeding 35 degrees celsius.
Orders & Shipping
We ship using either UPS, Royal Mail or APC depending on the delivery location. Normal delivery is achieved in 1-3 business days from the time of order, although this may be longer during peak shipping times. Shipping is charged at a flat rate of £7 per order to most mainland UK postcodes although orders over £50 get free shipping. Customers in the Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Scilly Isles or other remote locations will incur a £15 flat rate shipping fee or free shipping on orders over £100.
All shipments MUST BE RECEIVED by a person 18 years of age or older.
Once a shipment leaves our premises, we have no control over the shipping process. We can however attempt to diagnose or correct shipping problems for you. If a shipment has not been received by five business days after placing your order, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to assist.
Due to wildly variable shipping times that have been seen over the past year, we cannot guarantee delivery by any specific date or time for any order. In general, orders are delivered 1-3 business days after ordering, but this cannot be guaranteed to any destination. If you have an urgent shipment need, please get in touch by email before placing your order and we will try to accommodate the request.
It is rare, but occasionally parcels do go missing during shipment. In these situations, contact us at email@example.com and we will work with you to correct the situation. In general, if our shipping company shows a parcel as delivered and provides proof of delivery, we believe them. If our shipping company does not show delivery of a parcel, we will work with them and you to try and locate the parcel and get it delivered.
We use very resilient packaging specifically designed for the shipment of spirit bottles. As such, damage during shipment is extremely rare. In most instances, if a package is damaged during shipment, the shipping company will not attempt to make delivery but will instead return the item to us. In these instances we will replace the order and communicate with you about the situation. If a shipping company attempts to deliver a package to you that is obviously damaged, please refuse the delivery and get in touch with us by email. If you receive a package that is damaged or contains damaged goods, please get take pictures of the package and damaged goods and get in touch with us by email. We will ordinarily replace any items that have been damaged in shipment, but we may ask for proof of damage, possibly including return of damaged goods, before doing so.
If you order an item that is not in stock, we will contact you about the order. You will be given the option of cancelling the order or placing the item on back order for delivery once it is back in stock.
UK VAT is charged on all items ordered from our shop and is included in the price listed for each item. VAT is also charged on shipping costs, but is included in the flat fee shipping costs we add to your order. If you require a VAT receipt for any order, get in touch with us by email and include the order number. It may take up to 5 business days to process such requests.
Due to licensing and duty restrictions, it is not possible to process returns of spirit goods. All sales are final.
Orders can be cancelled anytime up until shipping. Once a shipment has been created for an order, the order can no longer be cancelled. In order to cancel an order, contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible after placing the order. We cannot guarantee that cancellations will be processed if shipments are already underway.
